Sample JAA PPL Ground Exams

AirQuiz have provided PPL Mania with a selection of sample questions of the ground exams for the JAA Private Pilot Licence syllabus. AirQuiz offer online examinations for pilot's. The exam questions are randomly generated from their database of over 2,800 questions! Both the UK Met Office and Lycoming USA have contributed to the AirQuiz question database. Now thanks to AirQuiz we are able to offer you just a snippet of what they have to offer. Before starting these sample exams we recommend that you print off a personal marking sheet. This way you can easily write down your answers and will make it easier for you to check against the answers. The exams listed below all have a limit of 20 questions per exam topic, be advised that in real examinations there can be up to 50 questions depending which exam subject you are taking.

Next, choose which PPL sample exam you would like to take. We recommend that you set aside at least 20 minutes per exam. We suggest you get at least 80% or more before doing that exam for real. Air Law and Operational Procedures

In the real Aviation Law exam there are normally 40 questions.
Only one answer is correct.  The pass mark is 75%
In the real exam the time limit is usually 60 minutes.

Aircraft General and Principles of Flight

In the real Aircraft General exam there are normally 50 questions.
Only one answer is correct.  The pass mark is 75%
In the real exam the time limit is usually 120 minutes.

Flight Performance and Planning

In the real Flight Performance exam there are 20 questions.
Only one answer is correct.  The pass mark is 75%
In the real exam the time limit is usually 60 minutes.

Human Performance and Limitations

In the real Human Performance exam there are 20 questions.
Only one answer is correct.  The pass mark is 75%
In the real exam the time limit is usually 30 minutes.

Meteorology

In the real Meteorology exam there are 20 questions.
Only one answer is correct.  The pass mark is 75%
In the real exam the time limit is usually 60 minutes.

Navigation and Radio Navigation

In the real Navigation exam there are normally 25 questions.
Only one answer is correct.  The pass mark is 75%
In the real exam the time limit is usually 90 minutes.
Note: You will need a current (2005) ICAO Aeronautical Chart (1:500 000).

Radio Telephony Communications (RTF)

In the real RTF exam there are normally 30 questions.
Only one answer is correct.  The pass mark is 75%
In the real exam the time limit is usually 40 minutes.
